Reflection 31/5/12

Today, I finished the booklet MDW for the criterion C assessment. It was easier than last time because, Mr.Hary told us the assessment that we already done this last 2 terms. I was happy because,  this was the last session in grade 7. I was sad because, I will miss my classmates and 7D was a great class. In the last 10 minutes, we had a photo shoot. It was a really dramatic day for my friends because, a lot of them cried.


Today, there was no Instrument class because,  we did the MDW booklet and it was the last session in grade 7.

Reflection 30/5/12

Today, Mr.Hary announced the score for last weeks playing baroque music song on the instrument. I go 9.5/10 and that was out of my expectations. I thought I got 8/10 but I got 9.5. I was so happy when Mr.Hary told my score. I also did the booklet MDW in class. The booklet was about the past assessments. We should write a lot of things in the booklet. I had a hard time doing it because, I forgot a lot of my assessments last term. I also did a booklet about the reflection. We should write the reflection on reflection booklet.


Today, there was no instrument because,  we did the MDW and it took a whole session of music which is 45 minutes.

Reflection 25/5/12

Today, I practiced the song Andantino for about 10 minutes before the assessment. I was feeling confident about my score and I hope to get 9/10. I waited until my time has come. I prayed to God before playing my song infront of the class. When I play my guitar, I got distracted a little with the students infront of me so, I did 1 mistake. I think I did really great today and I hope to get 9/10 for the score.


Today, there was no instrument class because, there was ana assessment playing baroque song in the theory class.

Reflection 24/5/12

Today, Mr.HARY told the amount of reflection I made. I did perfect in the journal reflection. I always write my reflection every music class. I scored 0 in the blog reflection because, I havent update a sigle week yet in my blog. I also watched my friends practice infront of the class to finalize their skills for tomorrows assessment playing baroque music on instrument.


Today, I practiced Andantino and I did it perfectly. I am now ready and well prepared for tomorrows assessment.

Today, there was a holiday so, there was no music theory nor music instrument.

Reflection 16/5/12

Today, I practiced singing with all of my class mates. First we hum the notes of music like C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C. After that, I sang do, re ,mi, fa ,sol ,la ,ti ,do with all of my friends then we hummed again. I was laughing while humming because my friend Eki, look so funny while humming. Mr.Hary announced my score in the test. I got 6.5/8. That score was not satisfying for me. I need to get a better score next time so, I need to learn in my house.


Today, I practiced Andantino for my assessment playing baroque music. I am surprised that Mr.John said that I am ready for my assessment. I feel rady for the assessment next week.

Reflection 11/5/12

Today, I learnt about triads AGAIN. There was a new version introduced to me which is the First and Second inversions of triads. this was more complicated than the other types of triads or other music notes because, it needs a clear understanding of music before knowing the inversions. It was so hard because it was my first time learning this topic. I think I need to learn more music. I also saw my friends practice infront of the class AGAIN.


Today, there was no instrument class because, the time was took by my friends which practiced infront of the class.

Today, I learnt about music notes like triads, major scales, sharps and a lot more music notes. It was a little simple than the last music notes we learned because, before there was the the types of triads and many more complicated notes. I also watched my friends practice their instrument for the assessment playing baroque song. Today was a boring day because, we did not do a lot of things that is fun.  


Today, there was no instrument class because, the time was taken by the studets that practiced in the theory session of music.

Today, Mr.Hary told us to do another test because, the scores on the test before (the test about baroque era) was not satisfying and ugly. A lot of students got low score even the smart ones got an average score. I am not really smart so I think that my score is not good. The new test was about Johan Sebastian Bach. It was an easy test because, it was a reading comprehension test so, we just need to classify the answers in the text so, we dont really need to learn al lot of points.  I also practice playing baroque songs infront of the class. It was hard because, I just learn the song that I will play (Andantino) Yesterday. I need to practice more in my house.


Today, there was no instrument class because, we practiced the instruments infront of the class, so the time was taken by theory.

Reflection 3/5/12

Today, my friends was disrespectful to Mr.Hary so, Mr.Harry told the class to write G major, D major, A major and E major scales. We were also told to write each of their triads and their types. I needed a lot of help from my friends beside me because, I was having a really hard time noticing the types of triads in each major scale. It was hard for me because, I never learned a lot about major scales, triads and many notes from music in my life. I only learn music in school. I need to learn music more in my house because, it will increase my talent at playing instruments.


Today,  in instrument class I played songs that I learned from the internet and Mr.John gave me the music for baroque assessment which is andantino. The song was not hard so, I will play it for my assessment.

Reflection 26/4/12

Today, Idid the assessment about baroque era. I thought I was going to write an essay but, it was fill in the blank questions. I was reviled because, I was not ready to make an essay but, I was ready to fill questions. I had a little hard time doing it because, the questions were a little. I think I would do better if I learned mor in the internet because, there is more informations in the internet than in the music books.


Today, there was no instrument because the time was taken by the test abouyt baroque era in theory class.

Reflection 25/4/12

Today, Mr.Hary was absent because, Mr.Hay had a motorcycle accident so Mr. John substituted. I learnt so much about baroque era today because, we revised for tomorrows test about baroque era.I dont think that I am ready yet because, I havent started learning anything at home. I need to learn at home so I would be ready for tomorrows test.

Reflection 19/4/12

Today, I watched my frieds dod their assessment sing the Western song Santa Lucia. My classmates sang well and some of them really dominate their voice and made a great score. I also did my assessment. I did sing well but, I am not really confident so, when singing, I looked up to a sticker with smiley faces on it. Next time, I must be more confident so, I need to sing infront of my family to be more confident. 

Today, there was no instrument class because, there was an assessment in theory class so, the instrument time was taken by the theory class.

Reflection 18/4/12

Today, Mr. Hary told us about the new reflection booklet. The reflection booklet is a booklet for our reflections at the end of every music class. it is divided to 2 parts, Theory and instrument. Today I also practiced the song Santa Lucia for tomorrow's assessment. When practicing, I coughed a little. I need to drink some medecine so I will still stay healthy for the Singing Western Song assessment tomorrow.


Today, I discussed about what song will I play in my Assessment playing baroque songs in guitar. I was planning to pick Ode To Joy but, Mr.John said if I Play Ode To Joy, my maximum score is 8/10.

Reflection 12/4/12

Today, I learnt many things about the song "Santa Lucia" like the lyrics. I learnt how to pronounce the lyrics in the original way. We got helped by a French teacher that teaches music and French in Binus. She is a native French. Mr.Hary told us to pair up and sing infront of the class. I paired up with Daniel. I did not sing well because I was laughing, my friends were disturbing me. I think, I need to be more focused when presenting infront so, I must do a Mind test that will increase my Focusing skills.


Today, there was no instrument because, we must practice the song "Santa Lucia" in theory class.

Reflection 11/4/12

Today, I learnt the topics of my assessments and their dates. I was told about the song from western part of the world called ''Santa Lucia" for the solo singing western song assessment. I was not born for singing in a nice voice, I could only sing in messy notes because, I think, I am not confident enough to show my extremely nice voice to the world. I think I need to sing more infront of the mirror so, I would be more confident to release my beautiful voice. 


Today, I played random songs that I learnt from the internet so I would be good at it. I learnt safe and sound. The song was really beautiful to hear. I cant play the song because it was my first time playing it on the guitar. I think I need to practice more.

Today, I learnt how to respect in the class because my friends, had bad behavior in the class every session. One of the ways to respect is to make a blog and update it. I am lucky because I already sent my blog. I have already update it from the first reflection.

Reflection 28/3/12

Today, I discussed about the blog. We were told to update the blog not every day, but only every Thursday so, it would be easier to do. Som of my friends havent update their blog for a long time. I just sent my blog last night. I got a stunning 7.5/8 YEESS!!! I am so happy with my score. My friends which need to redo their assessment because they failed, performed today.

Reflection 22/3/12

Today, I saw my friends from guitar class and piano class do their assessment, and guess what(what??) I ALSO DID MY PERFORMANCE!!!!. I was so shocked because in the usual class, guitar always be the third or the last. But then, IT WAS THE FIRST TODAY. Thank God I was not the first person to perform because I would be so scared and nervous. The first who perform is Ghani. To be honest, I think he played very well today but then, I dont know why Mr. John give him a passing score. When I played, I was so nervous and shaking. I did little mistakes. I wanted to get at least 8 and guest what(what??) I GOT 9 1/2!!!!. I was so happy because I will make my mom happy and if my mom is happy, everyone will be happy. The first time I heard the score, I cant believe I got 9 1/2 because I did not play until my best. I will be happy.

Reflection 21/3/12

Today, I learnt nothing again. I only saw my friends play their composition infront of the class. In my opinion, some of my friends did not play really well. Like Hannif, he was shaking because he was so nervous. I need to prepare for my assessment tomorrow.

Reflection 15/3/12

Today, I only listened to my friends playing their melody infront of the class. I was a little bored in this class because, we did not do anything else. The good thing is, I was able to whisper to my friends beside me from the start of the class until the end of the class.

Reflection 14/3/12

Today, I learnt about organizing time to practice our composition for next thursday. There is my friend called Andre, he played games like Ps3 everyday for.... 3 HOURS!!!!! I was shocked because that is a long time for a student. Mr. Hary told us to practice at least 30 minutes a day. After that, Mr. Hary told ME and Daniel to play our melody infront of the class. Daniel only played the major scale. I played the major scale and 8 bars of my music composition. I need to practice more because the assessment in next Thursday.

Reflection 8/3/12

Today, I learnt about what to music to use for my group's movement composition. Mr. Hary chose Nicholas's composition because, it was the best. Mr. Hary told us to practice our movement composition and then 20 minutes later, we will present it. Me and my group was very nervous because just yesterday, our group changed topic. We presented last. When we are presenting, every body in our class laughed because of my face and my acting. I was not shy because I like to act and somehow acting is my passion. We ended up making people happy and laugh. I like to see happy people it makes my heart calm.

Reflection 7/3/12

Today, I learnt about organizing the note chords. Mr. Hary showed us the compositions of group 3&4. Their compositions are very peaceful and very nice to hear. Mr. Hary told one of our class mates in each instrument class to present their composition infront. A lot of my friends memorize their composition. Thank God I did not need to go infront of the class to present my melody because Ghani is the one who go infront to present his melody. He did not memorize his melody so instead, he played the major scale.

Reflection 1/3/12

Today I dont learn about anything but, in my opinion today was the best music session ever. Mr. Hary showed us our scores for our Baroque composers booklet. I was shaking because I think that I will get a bad score but instead I got a really good score. I GOT 8/8 A PERFECT SCORE!!!! I was so happy because I can make mom happy because I promised her that I will get a good score this term and semester. After that, Mr. Hary told us to foto one by one infront of the class for our singing Indonesian song assessment. My friends posts are very funny. The funniest is Eki. He post like a handsome man with his hand shaped like a gun and he put it on his chin. He has the funniest face in our class. That is why this music session is the best.

Reflection 29/2/12

Today, I learnt again about our composition. Mr. Hary recheck our composers and make sure that we are already done with it. All of my friend's compositions are very peaceful, very simple notes like only half notes and single notes, and they are very pleasant to hear. When Mr. Hary called my name, I was nervous. I was shocked because my composition wasn't there. But then, i noticed if my name of file is weird so I got to untitled folder and thank God my composition is there. I f my composition wasn't there, my score will be deducted. I want to get a good score so my mom will be happy.

Reflection 23/2/2012

Today, I learnt a lot of things especially chords in music notes and finale. We learnt again how to set up the finale for the 32 bars melody. Mr. Hary explain it again because, my classmates still dont understand and forgot how to set up finale. First we mus click set up wizard, then press next 2 times. Next, we must choose our instrument like woodwind, piano, guitar or violin then, we press next 1 time. After that, we must write our personal biography at the text box. Last, we must change the beat to 90 then in the text, we must write "andante" press next, then we are ready to make our melody. We learnt chords again because, my friends forgot the places for the notes in each chord. Mr. Hary told us to submit tomorrow because, a lot of students havent done any of the soft copy and the hard copy. I will submit the soft copy and hard copy tomorrow.

Reflection 22/2/12

Today, I learnt about chords in music notes again. I am quite bored of this chord notes because we always repeat it every music class this past 3 weeks. I am almost done with my 32 bars melody. Only 8 more bars than I am done. Mr. Hary told us to do it on finale and submit the soft and hard copy. I am surprised because, I thought we will submit it next week. I haven't install the finale yet so I don't know what to do. I am really thankful for Bimo because he let me install Finale for my laptop. I can't ask the finale from Mr. Hary because my laptop is macintosh so it is different. I will put my melody on the finale and submit tomorrow.

Reflection 16/2/12

Today, I learnt about making melody from chord notes in music. I was told to make 32 bars of melody with the chord. I am not done yet. It was hard to make the melody because, Mr. Hary told us to make the melody playable and we must make it seriously because, it is our assessment. My friend, Daniel, made a melody that sounds very nice and peaceful. I will finish and bind my baroque composers booklet.

Reflection 15/2/12

Today, I learnt about chords in music notes. Chord I is C, E and G. Chord IV is F, A and C. Chord V is G, B and D. Chord VI is A, C and E. For me, I think the chords are easier than the usual notes because the usual notes is more complicated because, there is sharps, half notes, full notes, quarter notes and many other else. We are also told about our new rule of the Baroque composer booklet. The due date is delayed from 16 February to 23 February but we must add 10 more pages for the booklet. I feel lucky because I have only done 5 pages. I will finish and print my Baroque composers booklet.

Today, I learnt about making songs and the rules of making the booklet about Baroque composers. Mr.Hary told us to make a 4 bar melody. My melody is very ugly. The notes are very far from each other so it will be extremely hard to sing, even Mr.Hary have difficulties at singing my melody. In the booklet of Baroque composers, the font must be either Verdana, Comic Suns or Tahoma. The maximum size of the font is 16. We must submit it in 16 of February. I will start to make my booklet.

Today, i learnt the steps and the properties of my assessment making a booklet about Baroque Composers. I am also told the submission dates for my assessments that is coming this term. Mr. Harry told me how to install finale to our computers. we can install it by buying from the internet, buy the original cd or buy the crack. I will start my Baroque Composer booklet next week.

Reflection 1/2/12

Today, I learnt about notation. I learnt the counts of notes like whole notes, half notes, and quarter notes. We are also thought to make a blog. In the blog, I must put all my daily reflection for the criterion "Reflection" which the score is out of 8. I also learned how to set up the finale program to make a song for guitar for my assessment with my group. I will make my blog then send it to Mr. Hary's email.

Reflection 26/1/12

Today, I listened my remaining classmates that failed and havent sang yet. I was very shocked that a lot of girls got a score of 9 - 10. Their voices are very nice and their pitch are exactly the same as the original song. I will learn more about notation next week.

Reflection 25/1/12

Today, I sang the Hari Merdaka for my assessment. I was very stage fright so i laughed a lot of times when I was singing. The first time i heard my score i was ver shocked, I got a stunning 8/10. I got 8/10 becaues, my posture i good and i dont need to read the lyrics. I got a good score though i havent practiced and prepared enough yet. Tomorrow I will see my friends that havent sing.

Reflection 19/1/12

Today, I learnt about the c, g, d, e, and a major scales and where to put the sharps in the right place. I also practiced to sing the Indonesian song "Berkibarlah Benderaku" and "Hari Merdeka" for my assessment next week. I will sing Hari Merdeka infront of the class next week.
